Book features Vietnamese literary and arts works about Tet

HCM City (VNS/VNA) - The Dong A Books Joint Stock Company, one of Vietnam’sleading book publishers and distributors, has released a new book to celebratethe Tet (Lunar New Year) festival in the Year of the Tiger.

Sach Tet NhamDan 2022 (Book for the Year of the Tiger 2022) features a collection ofstories, poems, songs, paintings and illustrations about the spring and Tetfestival by 60 writers and painters.

The 304-pagebook was compiled by writer Ho Anh Thai, who has worked with Dong A to publishspecial books for Tet since 2019.

The book isdivided into six parts: Ky uc mua xuan (Memories of Spring), Van (Essays), Tho(Poems), Nhac (Songs), Hoa (Paintings), and Vi thanh (Conclusion).

The firstpart about spring in the past includes short stories such as Du Am Xom Cay Go (Backto Spring at Cay Go Residential Area) by Pham Cong Luan, Nho Mo (Fatback) by DoTien Thuy, and Co Ai Con Nho (Remembrance) by Uong Trieu.

The book alsofeatures literary works by famous Vietnamese writers and poets, like Cho Hoa PhienAp Tet (Flower Market the Day Before Tet) by late author Ma Van Khang, and Tet BinhThuong Cua Mot Nguoi Nghiem Tuc (A Usual Tet Festival of a Serious Man) by PhanThi Vang Anh, as well as songs by composers Pho Duc Phuong and Song Hao.

The paintingsection features works by Nguyen Viet Cuong, whose work honours frontlineworkers, and life in HCM City and the solidarity of its people during thepandemic, as well as paintings and illustrations by veteran and young painterslike Thanh Chuong and Ta Huy Long.

According to DongA Books, as in previous years, Sach Tet Nham Dan 2022 has had a greatcontribution from veteran artists and new faces. It is expected to be a greatgift for people in the upcoming festival.

In addition,the company will present a special gift box for Tet called Mot Goi Xuan (APackage of Spring), featuring books Sach Tet Nham Dan 2022 and Thuong Nho Muoi Hai(Twelve Months to Remember) by Vu Bang, about love and nostalgia for his wifeand native land in the north, experienced while stationed in various parts ofthe country over the course of decades.

The bookconsists of stories about foods, fruits, drinks and popular pastimes enjoyedduring the year.

The gift setwill include a table calendar with illustrations inspired from Bang’s bookcreated by veteran artist Duy Hung.

The Mot GoiXuan set priced at 709,000 VND (31 USD) can be pre-ordered at e-commerceplatform tiki.vn.

Sach Tet Nham Dan 2022is available at the company website sachdonga.vn, and e-commerce platformstiki.vn and Shopee. It costs 359,000 VND (15.7 USD)./.
