Binh Duong sends relief to disaster-hit victims in central region

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Duong province on November 2 sent relief worth 2.6 billion VND (113,000 USD) to 4,300 residents hit by flooding in the central provinces of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien-Hue.

Binh Duong (VNA) – The Vietnam Fatherland FrontCommittee of Binh Duong province on November 2 sent relief worth 2.6 billionVND (113,000 USD) to 4,300 residents hit by flooding in the central provincesof Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien-Hue.

Batches of relief will be distributed to affected familiestill November 5.

The committee has so far received donations worth over 16billion VND in support of disaster-hit victims.

Apart from necessities, the southern province of Binh Duongsent 1 billion VND from its fund to Thua Thien-Hue province, and 500 millionVND to each of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Nam and Ha Tinh provinces.

A number of foreign-invested companies in the locality alsojoined the charity effort./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
