Hanoi (VNA) - Located off Kien Luong district in thesouthern province of Kien Giang, Ba Lua Archipelago is a pristine landscape, which has been called the ‘Ha Long Bay of the South’.

The archipelago consists of 45 islands ofvarious sizes, however only ten are suitable to live on.

Tourists can reach the archipelago withjust a 30-minute boat trip from Kien Luong Ship Dock.

Ba Hon Dam is a group of three islands ofthe archipelago, namely Dam Duong, Dam Nuoc and Dam Gieng. Locals explain thatthe name Ba Hon Dam stems from the fact that three mountains stand together andform a marshland area in the middle. The marshland is a clear, quiet andshallow water area.

The group of islands attracts tourists notjust with its pristine landscapes, but also because of the shallow water aroundthe area. Tourists don’t have to use boats to hop from one to the other – theycan just paddle.

Walking a few hundred metres in the sea isan impressive memory for visitors. When the tide is low, it’s an ideal time fortourists to paddle, admire the sea and catch sea creatures.

Sunrise and sunset are not to be missed inthis particular place. Tourists may be surprised to see the wonderful pinklight at sunrise and sunset, a perfect backdrop for the boats floating in thedistance. The atmosphere is tranquil with the sound of waves lapping at cliffs.

Residents on the islands offer tourismservice like tents, seafood cuisine and drinks.-VNA
