Awards granted to French language teachers, students

Ten teachers who have contributed to developing French language at high schools received Valofrase awards at a ceremony held by the Ministry of Education and Training and the International Organisation of La Francophonie in Hanoi on December 30.

Theawards also went to 50 outstanding students who earned high scores onGroup D3 of literature, mathematics and French language during the 2013university entrance exam and won prizes in the national academiccompetitions as well.

This was the recognitionof the efforts made by the teachers and students as well as theattention paid by local authorities to the teaching and learning ofFrench.

The awarding ceremony was part of theValofrase project, which helps promote French language in Vietnam,Laos and Cambodia.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
