Australian heroin transporter seized in Tan Son Nhat airport

An Australian national was caught transporting 379.69 gram of heroin at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the municipal customs department reported on December 7.

T.K.H, 37, who was todepart for Melbourne, Australia on December 2, was found to have hiddenthe heroin, which valued at more than 1.1 billion VND (51,700 USD),inside her body.

Earlier on December 1, theairport’s customs officials discovered Loke Dah Lee, a Singaporean,transporting 2.89 kilograms of heroin while clearing departureprocedures for a flight to Kaohsiung, Taiwan (China).

According to the Police Department for Drug-related CrimesInvestigation (C47) at the Ministry of Public Security, over 20 drugtrafficking cases were detected at Tan Son Nhat International Airport inthe first nine months of this year.

The police seized 14 suspects, 7.7 kilos of heroin, 13 kilos of cocaine,4 kilos of meths and nearly 40 kilos of drug precursors.-VNA
