August Revolution, National Day marked in Japan

The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan hosted a gathering on August 20 to celebrate the 77th anniversary of August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).

Tokyo (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy inJapan hosted a gathering on August 20 to celebrate the 77th anniversary of August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).

In his remarks, Ambassador Vu Hong Nam emphasisedthe significance of the historical events, and reviewed achievements Vietnam has recorded in national construction and development over the past 77 years.

Regarding the relations between Vietnam and Japan,the diplomat said since the establishment of the bilateral diplomatic ties in1973, the relationship has developed constantly and is now at its best ever.

More than 430,000 Vietnamese are living and workingin Japan, forming the second biggest foreign community in Japan, after China,Nam noted, calling on them to contribute more to the national construction anddevelopment, as well as the relations between the two countries.

On this occasion, the ambassador presentedcertificates of merit to six collectives and 32 individuals in recognition oftheir contributions to the Vietnamese community in Japan./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
