Association of Vietnamese experts in Switzerland set up

The executive board of the Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals and Experts in Switzerland (AVIES) debuted on June 2 at the headquarters of Vietnam’s Permanent Mission to the UN, WTO and other international organisations in Geneva, Switzerland.

Geneva (VNA) – The executive board of the Association of VietnameseIntellectuals and Experts in Switzerland (AVIES) debuted on June 2 at theheadquarters of Vietnam’s Permanent Mission to the UN, WTO and otherinternational organisations in Geneva, Switzerland.

Ambassador Duong Chi Dung, head of the Vietnamese mission, underlinedcontributions made by Vietnamese experts to the homeland’s socio-economicdevelopment.

Lauding the establishment of the AVIES, the Vietnamese diplomat committed tosupport intellectuals to carry out the association’s plans and projects whileexpressing his hope that more Vietnamese experts will join the association.

The AVIES gathers some 70 Vietnamese intellectuals and experts working inSwitzerland in various fields of business management, finance, mobiletechnology, computer science, health care and infrastructure development, amongothers.

The association aims to accelerate the implementation of initiatives andcooperative projects for the development of the homeland, Vietnam-Switzerlandties and relations between Vietnam and the UN, WTO and other internationalorganisations.

The AVIES establishment took place in the framework of the third talks onmeeting Vietnamese intellects in Switzerland, during which blockchaintechnology and startup development were highlighted.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
