Officials from all ASEAN’s member countries are gathering in Hanoi to discuss awide range of issues relating to migrant workers.
The two-day meeting isthe third of its kind of the ASEAN Committee on the Implementation of the ASEANDeclaration on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers(ACMW), which aims to prepare for the 21 st ASEAN Labour Ministers’Meeting.
The participants focus their discussion on ways to promote theprotection and promotion of the rights of migrant workers to preventexploitation and maltreatment.
They also look to increase the group’scooperation in combating human trafficking and develop ASEAN’s documentsregarding the protection and promotion of the rights of migrantworkers.
