ASEAN looks for joint stamp and postmark

ASEAN has launched a stamp and postmark design contest in all of its members in celebration of the integrated ASEAN Community in 2015.
ASEAN has launched a stamp and postmark design contest in all of itsmembers in celebration of the integrated ASEAN Community in 2015.

The competition will search for the best designs to become a jointstamp and postmark that will be used throughout the ASEAN region.

The stamp and postmark on the theme “One vision, one Identity, Onecommunity” will be officially available on August 8 in each member stateto celebrate the bloc’s 48 th founding anniversary.

According to Thai Minister of Information and Communication PornchaiRujiprapa, some 55 designs have been chosen from the bloc’s 10 membercountries so far, comprising 30 stamps and 25 postmarks.

The best designs, which will be announced in Bangkok, will be selectedby 10 judges from the ASEAN member states and three others from theUniversal Postal Union (UPU), the Asian-Pacific Postal Union (APPU), andthe ASEAN Secretariat.

The best stamp design will receive 1,000 USD and the best postmark will get 500 USD.-VNA
