ASEAN Engineers to convene in Vietnam

Vietnam will host the Conference of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (CAFEO) for the second time in Hanoi from November 30-December 4.
Vietnam will host the Conference of the ASEAN Federation of EngineeringOrganisations (CAFEO) for the second time in Hanoi from November30-December 4.

At a seminar on October 21 before the conference, the 28 th CAFEO, theVietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) said that500 engineering professionals working in various industries from the tenmember organisations of the ASEAN Federation of EngineeringOrganisations will attend the event.

The WorldEngineering Federation, the ASEAN Engineering and Technology Academy,engineering organisations from the US, Japan, the Republic of Korea,Australia, China, India, Germany, the UK, New Zealand, and others, aswell as institutions and businesses will also send representatives tothe conference.

This year, the conference willfocus on the theme “Engineering and Technology for a Better Quality ofLife in Response to Climate Change”.

It willinclude five main topics, including Engineering and Technology used inthe Construction of Buildings and Infrastructure; EnvironmentalEngineering and Technology; Energy, Mechanical, Electrical Engineeringand Information Technology; Education and Training of Engineering; andEngineering and Technology for Health, Safety and Management.

Among the other activities at the event will be an exhibition of newscientific and technological researches and products made by theparticipating countries as well as visits to major project sites andmanufacturers in Hanoi and its surrounding provinces.

CAFEO 28 will also honour engineers and professionals who havecontributed to the engineering sector. It is an annual event, hostedalternately by each ASEAN country. Vietnam has been attending CAFEOsince 1995 and hosted the 18 th CAFEO in 2000./.
