Hanoi (VNA) - 🐠The art programme titled “Belief and Aspiration” held at the Hanoi Opera House on November 21 reflects the diversity of Vietnamese culture.

It is one of the activities celebrating the National Cultural Conference to be organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism under the instruction of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education a couple of days later.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong, said the programme aims to affirm the role and position of culture in national development.

꧅ Vietnam has reaped major achievements in the cause of national liberation and construction over the past nearly half decade, he said, attributing the attainments to the Party’s flexible, creative guidelines.

The “Belief and Aspiration” art programme brings together more than 10 professional art troupes from the Vietnam National Music, Song and Dance Theatre, the Vietnam Academy of Dance, the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, and the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet, among others.

🐭 The 100-minute event was a combination of music, dances and documentary clips to highlight the leadership role of the Party and State in cultural development, and emphasise the diversity and richness of the cultures of different regions in the country.

Nguyen Quang Vinh, general director of the programme, said due to the complex developments of the pandemic, the number of participating artists has been reduced.

Artist Mai Lan, from Hoa Binh province’s art troupe, told VietnamPlus that she and her colleagues had rehearsed their gong performance for months before the art programme.

The artist expressed her honour to introduce Muong ethnic people’s traditional culture to audiences nationwide, saying the art programme also offers an opportunity for artists to exchange experience.

Apart from the art programme, an exhibition to celebrate the 2021 National Cultural Conference started in Hanoi on November 16 displaying various valuable materials and artefacts that shed light on the country’s development and international integration over the years.

A documentary film is being produced that will help viewers look back on the original values of Vietnam and how to promote those values in the future.

Other activities have been urgently deployed to keep up with the schedule for the official conference scheduled for on November 24.

According to Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung, all preparations for this important event have been completed. Many activities were organised early ahead of the conference to show and spread the meaning of the conference.

The conference will be an opportunity to open a new turning point in the revival and development of Vietnamese culture and people.

This is the first year that Vietnam is implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party, concretising the country’s socio-economic development plan for 2021-30 period and towards 2045, celebrating the country's 100th founding anniversary. The Party set the goal that our country must be a developed industrialised country at that time.

2021 also marks 35 years since the country's Doi moi (renewal) process.

Specifically, 2021 marks the 75th anniversary of the first National Cultural Conference, which was held on November 24, 1946.

This second conference will be held with the aim of implementing the 13th National Party Congress’s Resolution on culture. It is also an important task of all Party organisations.

Therefore, this conference has a historical nature, inheriting and promoting the spirit and meaning of the first National Cultural Conference held on November 24, 1946 and chaired by President Ho Chi Minh.

𝓡 This year’s conference will closely follow the overall implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party on culture, the minister said./.

Taking a journey to the Cham Museum — the modest building in Phan Rang –Thap Cham, Indian writer Ankita Mahabir said that the museum might not boast size but it brims with pride for the local community, featuring carefully preserved sandstone sculptures, portraits, and rare artifacts.

For years, the Vietnamese community in many countries rarely had the chance to experience Vietnam’s traditional arts and culture actitivies organized by the Vietnam government, except the annual event “Vietnam Day Abroad” that has been organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2010. But the year 2024 marked a turning point.

In the context of international integration and globalisation, culture and art education plays a vital role in promoting the all-round development of Vietnam's young generation.
