– A meeting was heldin Ho Chi Minh City on February 15 to increase mutual understanding andsolidarity between armed forces in Military Region 7 and religions in the region.

Lieutenant General Tran Hoai Trung, Secretary ofthe Party Committee and Political Commissar of Military Region 7, affirmed thegreat role of religious dignitaries and followers in the cause of nationalindependence, reunification, defence, and development.

He called on them to join efforts in buildingnew rural areas and civilised urban areas with strong economies and firmdefence and security.

Head of the Government Committee for ReligiousAffairs Vu Chien Thang asked religious dignitaries and followers to strictlyimplement the law on belief and religion along with the Party and State’spolicies and guidelines in the field.

Over the past year, armed forces in MilitaryRegion 7 raised money to build 115 houses for people of the Stieng ethnicgroup, as well as visited and presented gifts to prominent dignitaries andmonks in the area on national holidays and religious festivals.–VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
