APEC 2017: Youth delegates visit Quang Nam province

As many as 160 youth delegates from APEC member economies visited the central province of Quang Nam on Nov 7 as part of activities within the framework of the APEC Voices of the Future 2017 forum.

Quang Nam (VNA) – As many as 160 youth delegates from APEC membereconomies visited the central province of Quang Nam on November 7 as part ofactivities within the framework of the APEC Voices of the Future 2017 (VOF2017) forum.

Visiting Hoa Binh (Peace) Village in Tam Dan commune, Phu Ninh district, thedelegation presented over 100 gifts to orphans and disabled children livingthere.

Set up in 2010, the village is currently home to 112 orphan and disabledchildren and lonely elderly people in the locality.

They have been provided with good healthcareservices, education and other social activities, said Director of the Hoa Binh VillageNguyen Thi Hong Hanh.

Leaving for Tam Thanh art community village in Tam Thanh commune, Tam Ky city,the delegation contemplated kaleidoscopic murals depicting portraits ofvillagers, local scenes and regional panoramas. They were impressed by thelocals’ hospitality and the ways they develop community-based tourism.

The delegates also saw how artisans make colourful lanterns, a standout tourismproduct of UNESCO-recognised Hoi An ancient town, when visiting Lantana and HaLinh lantern workshops.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
