Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Vietnam made utmost efforts to ensure thesuccess of the APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Week in Da Nang city from November4-11, according to The Malay Mail.

Due to event’simportance in Vietnam’s policy of international integration, preparations forthe Leaders Week began early and were made meticulously.

The article said that the APEC theme of “Creating New Dynamism, Fostering A SharedFuture” for 2017 as well as priorities set by Vietnam were supported by APECeconomies.

The theme reflectsthe APEC member economies’ common concern about seeking “new dynamism” forintegration, connectivity and economic growth in the Asia-Pacific. It alsoshows APEC and Asia-Pacific’s target of “fostering a shared future” with peace,stability, development and prosperity.

As host of the event, Vietnam did its best to harmonise benefits and findcommon ground for differences among APEC members. The country also upholds itscommitments to supporting multilateral trade in the spirit of equality, mutualbenefits, voluntarism and mutual respect.

Achievements at conferences on inclusive development in economy, finance andsociety, cross-border e-ecommerce and startup innovation provided a basis for discussionsat the APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Week, the article noticed.

The APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Week was attended by heads of the world’sleading economies like US President Donald Trump, Russian President VladimirPutin and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Founded in 1989, the 21-economy APEC is the Asia Pacific’s premier economicforum. Its primary goal is to support sustainable economic growth andprosperity in Asia-Pacific. Member economies account for 39 percent of theworld population, 57 percent of the world GDP and 47 percent of the globaltrade, according to statistics in 2014.
