AmCham Hanoi celebrates 25th anniversary

A ceremony was held in Hanoi on November 8 to mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in the Vietnamese capital city and the 25th anniversary of the normalisation of Vietnam-US economic relations.

– A ceremony was held in Hanoi on November 8 to mark the 25thanniversary of the establishment of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham)in the Vietnamese capital city and the 25th anniversary of the normalisation ofVietnam-US economic relations.

CommerceSecretary Wilbur L Ross and other US government officials, along with CEOs of17 leading US companies attended the event.

Inhis remarks, Ross said the Vietnam-US trade cooperation is of significance, andpromoting the bilateral trade ties would bring huge benefits to US firms.

Heemphasised major contracts between US enterprises and their Vietnamese partnersin aviation, energy and health care, and expressed his firm belief that USbusinesses will have new cooperation opportunities with Vietnam in the future.

Accordingto US Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel J. Kritenbrink, two-way trade revenue hasexceeded 60 billion USD.

Thepresence of representatives of the US companies during the current trip toVietnam would help advance the bilateral trade ties, he noted.  

Vietnamis the final leg of a trip to three countries in the Indo-Pacific region byRoss and his entourage, which also took them to Thailand and Indonesia./.
