Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s airlines have announced plans to adjust domesticand international flights on September 16-17 to avoid impacts from super typhoonMangkhut.

Accordingly, national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will delay the start offour flights, namely VN1672, VN1673, VN1180 and VN1181, on the routes betweenDa Nang and Ho Chi Minh City/Hai Phong on September 17.

Meanwhile, two flights VN1192 and VN1193 between the HCM City and Hai Phongroute on September 16 evening was rescheduled to take off earlier by two hours.

Vasco will also cancel four flights on the Hanoi - Dien Bien route on September17. The affected flights are 0V8202, 0V8203, 0V8204 and 0V8205.

Earlier, Vietnam Airlines announced that it would adjust 10 flights betweenHanoi/Ho Chi Minh City and Hong Kong (China), HCM City and Guangzhou (China) on September 16-17.

VietnamAirlines said it will keep a close watch on the weather situation to update itsplan. It advised passengers who plan to move to or from Hong Kong to update theweather forecast and the carrier’s announcement.

Also on September 16, Jetstar Pacific announced its plan to cancel four flightsbetween HCM City/Hanoi and Guangzhou on September 16-17.

The affected flights are BL612, BL672, BL613 and BL673.

One day earlier, the low-cost carrier said it would cancel two flights BL678and BL679 on the Hanoi and Hong Kong route on September 16 in fear of the supertyphoon.

Passengers can contact the carrier’s customer service phone number 1900 1550for more information.

The Guangzhou Airport will halt its land service on September 16-17 (localtime), resulting in flight cancellation.

Mangkhut made landfall in Luzon Island, north of the Philippines, at 1:40 am ofSeptember 15 (Philippines time), sustaining wind speeds of over 200km per hour.

The typhoon is predicted to hit China’s Guangdong province on late September16.-VNA
