- General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam and First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (CPC) Central Committee and President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez held talks in Hanoi on September 1, within the framework of the latter’s ongoing state visit to Vietnam.

The two leaders briefed each other on the situation in their respective countries, agreed on directions and measures to further consolidate and develop the special traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cuba, and discussed several regional and international issues of mutual concern. - State President Luong Cuong met with First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez in Hanoi on September 1 morning as part of his state visit to Vietnam and attendance at a grand ceremony celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2).

At the meeting, the Vietnamese State leader warmly welcomed Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez on his first visit as head of Cuba’s Party and State, praising the high-ranking Cuban delegation’s presence at Vietnam’s national celebration as a reflection of the deep fraternal ties and valuable support of the Cuban Party, State and people for the Vietnamese revolutionary cause. - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held meetings with leaders of Cambodia, Malaysia, India, the UN, and ASEAN on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit 2025 in Tianjin, China on September 1.

Meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, PM Chinh thanked President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and President of the Cambodian Senate Samdech Techo Hun Sen for attending Vietnam’s upcoming 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945–2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945–2025), highlighting the close and united relations between the two countries. - Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Tran Thanh Man hosted a reception on September 1 for Igor Sergeenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the NA of Belarus, who is leading a Belarusian delegation to Vietnam to attend a ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.

The host leader expressed his delight at meeting Chairman Sergeenko again after their meeting on the sidelines of the 45th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-45) in Laos last October. He appreciated Belarus sending high-ranking delegations to Vietnam’s major events over the recent past, describing this as a vivid demonstration of the enduring solidarity, loyalty, and valuable support of the Belarusian people for Vietnam—both during its struggle for independence and liberation in the past as well as its national construction and development at present. - Vietnam’s August Revolution in 1945 was not only a remarkable historical event of the 20th century but also a global symbol of the strength of national unity and the spirit of self-reliance and resilience, according to El Salvador’s Vice President Félix Ulloa.

The revolution’s victory stemmed from the ability to mobilise the strength of the entire people, from unshakable solidarity, and from creativity in methods of struggle that turned adversity into opportunity, he told the Vietnam News Agency’s correspondent in Latin America on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2). - The presence by President of the Cambodian Senate and President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) Samdech Techo Hun Sen at Vietnam’s 80th National Day grand celebration demonstrates the traditional friendship, solidarity, and all-round cooperation between the two countries, and also reflects the highest regard for their political and diplomatic relations, according to CPP Honorary President Samdech Heng Samrin.

In an interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency’s correspondents in Phnom Penh, Heng Samrin, who is also Honorary Chairman of the Supreme Advisory Council to the King of Cambodia, said that this visit is an opportunity to consolidate and expand people-to-people relations, promote cultural and tourism exchanges, and enhance mutual understanding between the two countries. - State President Luong Cuong’s attendance at a ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the world’s victory over fascism underscores Vietnam’s responsible voice and support for global efforts toward peace, security, and development, said Permanent Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu.

Speaking to the press ahead of President Cuong’s working visit to China from September 2 - 4, Vu stressed that this will be the President’s first trip to China in his new capacity as the head of state. Party General Secretary To Lam stressed that the country’s new growth drivers stem from the organic linkages among the resolutions, explaining that international integration opens the door to the world, while stable and green energy is a prerequisite for production, schools, and hospitals. He added that high-quality education and training will supply engineers, doctors, and public service managers.
