Activities to bolster Vietnam-China friendship

A number of activities are taking place in China’s Guangxi province as part of the Vietnam-China people’s friendship festival and a ‘red’ tourism route following the past journey of President Ho Chi Minh in China, contributing significantly to enhancing friendship between the two nations.

On May 21, a friendship exchange between Chinese and Vietnamese teenagers was held in the province’s Chong Zuo city.

Vice Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Feng Xuejun spokehighly of the future role of teenagers in promoting the bilateraltraditional friendship.

On the same day, Feng hadtalks with the President of the Vietnam Union of FriendshipOrganisations, Vu Xuan Hong, during which he suggested both sidesstrengthen exchanges, develop neighbourship and boost cooperation inborder transport infrastructure building, education and culture.

Hong, in turn, affirmed that promoting the tradition of friendship andsolidarity creates the foundation and driving force for the all-roundVietnam-China relations development.

He recalled therevolutionary journey of the late President Ho Chi Minh in China andChong Zuo city, noting that every activity he made there was closelyassociated with important events of the Vietnamese revolution and markedthe close ties between the two countries.

Earlier on May 20, a President Ho Chi Minh memorial house wasinaugurated in Guangxi’s Jingxi district. It is home to nearly 100photos and items featuring the President’s and other Vietnameserevolutionists’ activities in the district and along the shared border.

The Vietnamese delegation is scheduled to attend aninaugural ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh Exhibition House in Long Zhou,Chong Zuo city to wrap up the Vietnam-China people’s friendship festivaland the red tourism named “In the Footprints of Uncle Ho” in Guangxiprovince from May 17-22.

All these events aim tomark the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam andChina and the 125th birth anniversary of the late President Ho Chi Minh.-VNA
