Activities for 59th anniversary of AO disaster discussed

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the VAVA CentralCommittee Dang Nam Dien said an exchange marking the occasion will beheld on August 9 with a view to looking into the impact of AO on Vietnamese humansand environment, the Party and State’s support for victims, and the journey forjustice for them.
The exchange is expected to raise the awareness of thepublic at home and abroad about AO disaster waged by the US army during the war in Vietnam from 1961 to 1971 and the post-war recovery in the country, as well as suggestmeasures to win justice for AO victims in the new situation.
The same day, the committee also sent a dispatch to citiesand provinces calling for holding more activities on the occasion./.
Tran To Nga, a Vietnamese Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin victim living in France, introduced her autobiography on the occasion of the Vietnam Day event held in Val de Marne province of France on March 25.
It’s 56 years since the US troops started to spray defoliants, including Agent Orange over southern Vietnam. However its aftermath still remains on the third generation of the AO/dioxin victims.
