Hanoi (VNA) – The Central Committee of the VietnamAssociation of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA) held a conference in Hanoion June 8 to discuss activities marking the 59th anniversary ofVietnam AO/Dioxin disaster.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the VAVA CentralCommittee Dang Nam Dien said an exchange marking the occasion will beheld on August 9 with a view to looking into the impact of AO on Vietnamese humansand environment, the Party and State’s support for victims, and the journey forjustice for them.

The exchange is expected to raise the awareness of thepublic at home and abroad about AO disaster waged by the US army during the war in Vietnam from 1961 to 1971 and the post-war recovery in the country, as well as suggestmeasures to win justice for AO victims in the new situation.

The same day, the committee also sent a dispatch to citiesand provinces calling for holding more activities on the occasion./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
