8,800 volunteers ready for National Day celebration
The volunteers will be in charge of guiding delegates, distributing essential supplies at Ba Dinh Square’s grandstand area, supporting citizens along parade routes, managing storage facilities, transporting supplies, assisting with social order and environmental protection, and helping to welcome domestic and foreign delegations.

Hanoi (VNA) – As many as 8,800 volunteers gathered at Hang Day Stadium in Hanoi on August 16, preparing to serve the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).
According to the Hanoi Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the volunteers were meticulously selected from 43 universities, colleges, and communes across the city for their moral and political virtues, good academic records, physical health, and foreign language proficiency.

At the event, Secretary of the Youth Union Committee and Chairman of the Hanoi Students’ Association Nguyen Tien Hung recalled that 80 years ago, young people stood in the vanguard of the nation’s struggle for independence and freedom. He highlighted today generations are honoured to shoulder crucial responsibilities for the city to organise this grand celebration.
He described this as an opportunity for the youth to demonstrate the national pride and dedication, expressing his confidence that the volunteers will excel in their assigned duties, creating lasting impression of Hanoi and Vietnamese youth on both domestic and international visitors.
The Youth Union provided volunteers with uniforms, badges, and training sessions on security assistance, environmental protection, crowd guidance, emergency evacuation, and first aid.

Officers and soldiers of the military and public security forces, along with modern weapons and equipment, took part in the fourth full-dress joint rehearsal in Hanoi on August 16 for the upcoming parade to be staged at the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025).
Hanoi authorities and relevant agencies were told to uphold a strong sense of responsibility, work urgently, and coordinate closely with the steering committee to fulfil all assigned tasks, ensuring the event’s success, absolute safety, and no errors.
The exhibition vividly demonstrated the spirit of great national solidarity through rich and diverse content, highlighting the principle that the people are the foundation and the true makers of history, according to the PM.
Taking place over 19 days, the exhibition was a highlight of celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day. It not only reviewed milestones of the past eight decades but also inspired patriotism, national pride, and aspirations for sustainable growth and integration.
The moves were made in response to an appeal from the Vietnam Red Cross Society, marking the 65th anniversary of Vietnam – Cuba diplomatic relations (December 2, 1960–2025) and highlighting the enduring solidarity between the two nations.
A representative of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union expressed her hope that FAO will continue to accompany Vietnam in promoting high-tech and environmentally friendly agriculture, delivering tangible benefits to farmers.
