As many as 851 inmates at the Thu Duc prison (Z30D) in Ham Tan district of the central province of Binh Thuan were released on August 31, in compliance with the President’s amnesty decision on the occasion of the upcoming National Day (Sept. 2). The ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court Nguyen Son.
Tran Huu Thong, a guard from the Thu Duc prison, said the move has been made in a careful, transparent and fair manner, ensuring democracy throughout the process.
The well-equipped Thu Duc prison is the biggest facility in the nation, currently housing more than 8,000 inmates. The same day, 27 others were released from the province’s detention camp as a result of their positive rehabilitation behaviour.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
