Hanoi (VNA) - 𓂃Vietnam's annual military draft kicked off on February 13 as young citizens across the nation began their journey into national service, marking the first wave of the country's 2025 conscription drive.

The recruitment campaign, operating under the 2015 Law on National Defence and recent directives from both the Prime Minister and the Ministry of National Defence, take place between February 13 and 15. On the first day, 52 cities and provinces held their enlistment ceremonies, including Hanoi, six provinces from Military Region 1, four from Military Region 2, nine from Military Region 3, 11 from Military Region 5, nine from Military Region 7, and 12 from Military Region 9.
The remaining localities will complete their enlistment ceremonies over the following two days, with six provinces in Military Region 4 on February 14 and five from Military Region 2 on February 15. To ensure the completion of recruitment quotas while maintaining quality and adhering to the Law on National Defence, the Ministry of National Defence has guided local authorities to carry out strict registration and management of citizens eligible for conscription.
Local authorities have worked in close coordination with military units to ensure meticulous execution of the recruitment process, ensuring both quality and safety. In Hanoi, thousands of young recruits from 30 districts participated in enlistment ceremonies. The capital city’s Military Command has implemented comprehensive measures to ensure high effectiveness in this year's military recruitment drive. It has enhanced coordination among various forces to raise public awareness of military service obligations and responsibilities under the military service law./.
