50 businesses receive Vietnam Tourism Awards 2010

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and the Vietnam Tourism Association jointly held a ceremony in Hanoi on October 17 to present the Vietnam Tourism Awards 2010 to excellent businesses.

At the ceremony, VNAT Director Nguyen Van Tuan presented certificatesof merit and commemorative cups to 50 establishments, including the top10 five-star
hotels and the top 10 international travel companies.

2011 marks the 12 th year of the presence of the Vietnam Tourism Awards.

Speaking at the event, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism HoangTuan Anh stressed that travel businesses are a momentum for Vietnam’s tourism development, making the country one of the attractivedestinations for international tourists.

Vietnamstrives to welcome about 10 million foreign visitors in 2020 and 18million ten years later. The country sets a target of earning 18 billionUSD from tourism activities in 2020 and 36 billion USD in 2030./.

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
