41.6 million land-use right certificates granted

Provinces and cities across Vietnam have to date granted 41.6 million certificates of ownership to a total land area of 22.9 million hectares, which accounted for 94.8 percent of the used area that requires the certification.

According to deputy head ofthe Land Management General Department Le Thanh Khuyen, up to now, allof the country’s 63 localities have completed their planning on land useup to 2020.

In 2014, the department helped thelocalities deal with difficulties in land clearance and compensation andresettlement, especially those related to key projects.

It also intensified inspection over land use and management in orderto avoid law violations, while simplifying administrative proceduresinvolved.

The office’s head Nguyen Manh Hien, who isDeputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, said that in thefollowing year the office will continue perfecting legal documentsguiding the enforcement of the revised Land Law, and speeding upcommunication activities to increase public awareness of land-relatedlaws and policies.

It will also establish a modernland data system to serve the State management and use and provideadequate information to develop the property market, he added.-VNA
