Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) will concentrate on helping 30,000 businesspeople and enterprises with international connectivity and cooperation this year, its Chairman Pham Tan Cong has said.

Meanwhile, 200,000 others, mainly small-and medium-sized enterprises, businesswomen and entrepreneurs, will receive support to raise their business capacity.

This forms part of efforts to develop a strong contingent of businesspeople in the new period, he said. He added that the VCCI will also work out conventions and rules on business conduct and ethics, which is a new, urgent task as Vietnam moves toward the status of a developed nation by 2045.

Cong emphasised the target of having about 10 businesspeople included in the list of world billionaires, and five in Asia's most powerful businesspeople as voted by prestigious world organisations.

♔ To that end, the VCCI is implementing training programmes for business leaders, along with the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) and the Provincial Green Index (PGI) rankings, contributing to building a favourable, safe and equal investment environment, he said./.
