3.000 national flags are given to Ly Son fishermen to reach out the sea

These flags will be used by fishermen to replace ones on the fishing ships that have been faded, torn by storm winds, rain and sun during fishing trips, in order to protect the national sovereignty
In the morning of July 6th, the organizing committee of Tien Phong Newspaper’s 61st National Marathon and Long Distance Championship coordinated with Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) to organize to hand national flags and medicine cabinets to Ly Son fishermen. At An Hai fishing port, Ly Son island district, the organizers of the tournament encouraged ship leaders and crew members, handed each ship a national flag and a medicine cabinet.
Each cabinet has many common medicines and basic medical equipment to help fishermen take care of their own health when they do not have access to medical facilities while at the sea. In total, 200 medicine cabinets and 3.000 national flags were given to fishermen from the Fisheries Union of An Hai and An Vinh.
These are unions that regularly fish in offshore areas, including the waters in the Hoang Sa archipelago. These flags will be used by fishermen to replace ones on the fishing ships that have been faded, torn by storm winds, rain and sun during fishing trips, in order to protect the national sovereignty./.
