According to Nguyen Thanh Giang, who is in charge of consular affairs at theVietnamese Embassy in Indonesia, the tourists contacted the embassy for supporton November 27, and were guided how to leave Bali.
Giang said after Lombok International Airport was closed on early November 28,the only way to leave Bali is to travel by land to Surabaya, which is thenearest location with a safe airport.
Earlier,at the advice of the embassy, another group of seven Vietnamese tourists travelled toSurabaya city by ferry and then took a flight to Jakarta. They safely arrivedin Jakarta on November 27 evening.
Onits Facebook page, the embassy issuedwarnings about the eruption of Mount Agung and urged Vietnamese touristsstranded at Ngurah Rai airport to seek ways to leave Bali as soon as possible.
