15th WTA Hi-tech Fair kicks off in Binh Duong province

The 15th edition of the World Technopolis Association (WTA) Hi-tech Fair opened in the southern province of Binh Duong on October 11, as part of activities to mark the 20th anniversary of the WTA.

Binh Duong (VNA) – The 15th edition of the World Technopolis Association (WTA)Hi-tech Fair opened in the southern province of Binh Duong on October 11, aspart of activities to mark the 20th anniversary of the WTA.

The openingceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, WTA President HerTae Jeong, Binh Duong authorities, and nearly 100 businesses.

On display are 30 pavilions from firms of 48 countries andterritories.

The 15th WTA Hi-tech Fair showcases cutting-edgetechnologies and services in the construction sector and smart city development,such as smart lighting and smart energy systems.

It also offers a highly-interactive platform for companies,universities, and research institutes of WTA member cities to strengtheninternational cooperation and exchange advanced technologies.

The event is also a rendezvous for delegates to share ideas,experiences, and information in order to bolster business opportunities, seekpotential partners, and build global connection.

The fair willrun until October 13 at the Binh Duong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Binh Duong became the first location in Vietnam to beselected as an official member of the WTA, which has 106 members from 48countries and territories. 

The WTA has been implementing collaborative projects withUNESCO towards the development of sustainable urban science and the governanceof cities. –VNA

ℱ Vietnam launches six 4.0 technology training and talent networks

The networks bring together universities, research institutes and domestic and foreign businesses. Members will work closely in training, research, and technology transfer by sharing curricula, improving faculty capacity, providing access to laboratories and research facilities, and jointly implementing science and technology projects.

Vietnam is actively yet cautiously preparing for the construction of its first nuclear power plant in Ninh Thuan (now the south-central coastal province of Khanh Hoa). The resumption of the programme after years of suspension carries considerable significance for the nation’s development in a new era as it strives to gradually reduce and ultimately phase out coal-fired power to realise the Government’s commitment to Net Zero by 2050.

🍎 PM chairs national committee's meeting on semiconductor development

Vietnam has issued many key policies to support semiconductor development, notably the Politburo’s Resolution 57 on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Other initiatives include the Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050, and the Human Resources Development Programme for the Semiconductor Industry.
