13th National Party Congress is to open today

The 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) is to officially open in Hanoi in the morning of January 26, with the participation of 1,587 delegates representing more than 5.1 million Party members nationwide.

Hanoi (VNA) – The 13th National Congress of the Communist Partyof Vietnam (CPV) is to official🧔ly opens in Hanoi in the morning of January 26,with the participation of 1,587 delegates representing more than 5.1 millionParty members nationwide.

Among thedelegates, 13.99 percent are women, and 11.03 percent are ethnicminorities.

Guests at the congress include former Party and Stateleaders, ambassadors and representatives of the diplomatic corps of foreigncountries and chief representatives of international organisations in Hanoi,Heroic Mothers, and outstanding youths and intellectuals and representativesfrom religious organisations.
The Politburo decided to establish 67 del🤡egatio🦩ns,and assign their heads.

The 13th Congress is an important political event for theentire Party, army and people and a milestone in the development of the Partyand the country as a whole. It bears future orientation significance, thushelping boost the country’s renewal, integration and development causecomprehensively and synchronously. Documents to be submitted to the Congress not only reviewthe implementation of the 12th Congress’s Resolution in association with theassessment of the 35-year renewal, 30 years implementing the 1991 Platform, 10years implementing the 2011 Platform (amended) and the 2011-2020 socio-economicdevelopment strategy, but also set out the socio-economic developmentorientations and tasks for 2021 - 2025, as well as the goals and orientationsfor 2030 and the national development vision to 2045. This Congress will also review the Party building work andthe leadership of the 12th Party Central Committee, and elect a new Party CentralCommittee for the 13th tenure. According tothe approved working programme, after the opening ceremony, the congress willlisten to a report by the 12th Party Central Committee on itsleadership. In the afternoon, delegates will work in groups. Earlier, thecongress held a preparatory session on January 25, during which the congress adoptedits working regulations, elected a 17-member Presidium, a five-member secretarialdelegation and the delegate eligibility verification board. The session alsoapproved the congress’s working programme, election rules and a report ondelegates’ eligibility./.
