HCM City (VNS/VNA) - The HansaeYes24 Foundation will donate 10,000books on various subjects to 100 primary schools in the southern province of TayNinh to celebrate Vietnam Book Day on April 21.

The annual book donation programme entitled Motj Van Cuon Sach – Trieu Tinh YeuThuong (Ten Thousand Books - Millions of Love) has carefully selected books onvarious subjects such as science, culture and history that best fit withprimary students.

Speaking at a ceremony on April 14 to kick off the programme, Shin Soo-cheol,general director of Hansae Vietnam Co Ltd, said the programme is aimed atproviding useful books to young students and fostering their love of reading.

It will be carried out in the coming years to help students easily access goodbooks and develop reading culture at schools.

The books and 100 bookshelves will be delivered to schools this month.

The foundation has coordinated with departments of education and training in HoChi Minh City, Da Nang and Tay Ninh to gift books to schools since theprogramme was launched in 2017.

The foundation was established in 2014 by the South Korea-based Hansae CoLtd./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
