100 new houses handed over to poor ethnic minorities in Quang Tri
The new residences in Truong Son are designed to meet standards for safety, durability, functionality, and aesthetics, while incorporating local traditions.

Quang Tri (VNA)🐓 – The Quang Tri provincial Border Guard Command, in collaboration with local authorities and sponsors, handed over 100 newly-built homes to poor ethnic minority households in Truong Son commune on August 27, coinciding with Vietnam’s 80th National Day (September 2).
The activity was part of a broader programme to eradicate temporary and dilapidated housing. The Border Guard Command was tasked with building 256 houses for ethnic minority communities across Dan Hoa, Truong Son, and Kim Ngan communes. After nearly three months of construction, most of these houses, including all 100 in Truong Son, have been completed.
The new residences in Truong Son are designed to meet standards for safety, durability, functionality, and aesthetics, while incorporating local traditions. Costing a total of 12 billion VND (461,000 USD), they were funded through the national target programme for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, supplemented by public contributions raised by the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s provincial chapter, including donations from Vingroup’s Thien Tam (Kind Heart) Foundation.
During the handover ceremony, authorities also distributed gifts to residents of Rin Rin village in Truong Son commune./.
After the devastating flash flood in July 2024, the northern province of Dien Bien has been implementing many housing construction projects to help people whose houses were damaged. These days, hundreds of officers and soldiers of Regiment 741 under the Dien Bien Provincial Military Command, together with the militia and self-defense forces of Muong Pon commune, are actively joining hands to build houses for Muong Pon 2 residents in Muong Pon commune, Dien Bien district, helping them stabilize their lives before the upcoming storm season.
Following a national campaign to do away with substandard homes, Can Tho plans to build 371 new houses and repair 160 others by April 30, with total funding of 27 billion VND (1.05 million USD).
Through the number, people nationwide can report accidents, natural disasters, or other threats, providing details such as the time, location, scope of damage, and requests for support.
